Homegrown & Handmade in Carver County Minnesota

BearCountryBlooms strives to provide the freshest flowers, vegetables and baked goods to our customers at farmer’s markets and at our farm stand. We have held a cottage food license since 2019 and expanded our menu to include sourdough in 2024. We use organic practices for all our produce. Our breads are baked using our own produce and live sourdough cultures. Our signature salsas includes our homegrown organic tomatoes, peppers, garlic and onions. We are proud of the fact that we don’t use any pesticides or herbicides on our plants/shrubs/trees. Hundreds of types of plants grow in our one acre lot located 45 minutes west of the Twin Cities. Scroll down to see where you can purchase our products all summer long. We offer delivery in much of Carver County from October-May. Email CarriePauly@gmail.com to see if your address qualifies.

Planning for our Farmer’s Market season begins only a few weeks after the end of the previous season. We order seeds, collect seeds from the plants we can and start testing out new recipes in the kitchen. Often there is still salsa to can and right before the ground freezes we plant the garlic. Spoiler alert: No garlic for 2026 due to poor crop in 2025. All of these things happen while still baking weekly for the farm stand and for delivery customers. Sprinkle in knitting and other crafting and I guess you could say Market Season never ends for us.

In July of 2025 we were able to invest in a bread oven from England that allowed us to up our production of bread and improve our quality of life. (read: get more than an hour of sleep each night.). Later that year we purchased a 200+ pound mixer that has improved the gluten development of our sourdough products and given my wrists a much needed reprieve from hefting 50 pounds of dough repeatedly. We couldn’t have done any of this without your support. There are many sourdough bakers out there and the fact that you show up in all weather to purchase ours means the world to us! THANK YOU! 2026 brings even more exciting news as we work with a builder in Arkansas to create a memorable experience for our customers when they visit us at markets and to lessen the physical work of setting up a booth 40+ times a season. A vintage inspired camper will roll up to events this summer filled with sourdough and charm that will be so fun to share with you all.. Stay tuned!

2024 RECAP & LOOKING FORWARD TO 2025

2024 was a whirlwind of flowers and flour. When we added sourdough to our menu we had no idea it would take off like it did. We were kept very busy juggling it all while still maintaining our garden and dedication to our flower customers. By the grace of God we had a wet June which really helped get the flowers off to a great start while I was busy baking. Highlights of the 2024 season: Meeting so many new customers at the new Bongard’s location, finding new flavors of sourdough muffins to bring to the market, the introduction of our new farm stand and offering weekly pick up (and now delivery!) of our sourdough on Fridays once the market ended.

2025 has been off to a busy start! I maintained a weekly baking schedule and enjoyed my drives around Carver County getting breads in the homes of our wonderful customers. This spring we have been putting the farm stand out on Fridays and it has worked out wonderfully. We have the best, most honest and understanding customers! You can continue to pre-order bread until market season starts the first week in June here.

Our seedlings are getting moved to the greenhouse soon and before we know it they will be producing beautiful blooms and produce that we’ll bring to the market. When we have extras we’ll put the farm stand out. The best way to get notified about those buying opportunities is to follow us on Facebook at Carrie Pauly Designs or on Instagram at @BearCountryBlooms.

As always we are so grateful for your support of our homemade and handmade life here at BearCountryBlooms! THANK YOU!

2025 RECAP & LOOKING FORWARD TO 2026

We had NO idea just how busy 2025 was going to be. Wow! Reflecting back is almost as overwhelming as living it! I barely slept, I learned a TON, I met the nicest people, worked with the best vendors and got to do it all with my daughter by my side. Our theme for 2026 is to work smarter, not harder and that starts with narrowing down how many colors of the same variety I grow so I can keep up with the garden, alternating Cologne and NYA markets so I don’t have to bake three days in a row, upgrading our market experience with the new camper and making sure we have enough product at each event so that everyone gets a chance to take something home. We now have the equipment to make that happen and are excited to see where this season takes us!

See you soon!

Sourdough

There are many benefits of bread made with wild yeast vs. commercial yeast. The biggest three being it’s less likely to spike your blood sugar, contains lower levels of gluten and is easier for your body to digest. We also think it tastes 1000x better than store bought bread! From June through September we will have a rotating menu of fresh baked sourdough bread, sourdough muffins, sourdough cinnamon rolls, and focaccia at the Cologne Farmer’s Market, the 212 Market in Norwood and the Waconia Farmer’s Market. In the off season you can order bread here. using the link below. Note: Order links are created weekly. If you don’t see one when you visit the site, check back.
